The Story:
The Bible As One Continuing Story of God and His People

by Mac Lucado & Randy Frazee

The Story tells the grandest, most compelling story of all time!

God goes to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting people. That is what The Story is all about: the story of the Bible, God’s great love affair with humanity. Condensed into 31 accessible chapters, The Story sweeps you into the unfolding progression of Bible characters and events from Genesis to Revelation. Like any good story, The Story is filled with intrigue, drama, conflict, romance, and redemption—and this story’s true!

God hears. God acts. God delivers. In Lesson 3, the curtain rises on the Exodus—the defining act of deliverance in the Old Testament. God’s people are enslaved in Egypt, but He is neither distant nor silent. He raises up Moses, confronts Pharaoh with signs and plagues, and redeems Israel through blood and water. Through this story, we see the Gospel in shadow: the Passover Lamb, the parted sea, and the wilderness journey all point to a greater deliverance yet to come in Christ. God is not just the God of beginnings—He is the God who rescues, redeems, and walks with His people through every wilderness.
