December 3, 2021 • Gary Olsen, Chris Reighley • Luke 10:1–24; Luke 24:13–36; Acts 11:19–26
An Online Study for the Sunday Night Bible Study at Rolling Hills Community Church in Lago Vista, Texas
Teachers: Gary Olsen & Chris Reighley
What happened after Acts; at the end of the book, we leave Luke in Rome with Paul, but what happens next?! What about the author Luke? And how about Peter … he dropped out of the picture at the halfway mark, not to be heard from again … What gives?!
This session asks a profound question: Did Luke know Jesus personally? We trace his possible journey from Jerusalem to Antioch, explore hints in Acts and Luke’s Gospel, and consider whether he was one of the 72 disciples. Theories include his presence at Pentecost, possible authorship of the Emmaus Road account, and connections to the Antioch church.
- Was Luke one of the 72 disciples?
- Could he have been on the Emmaus road?
- The movement from Jerusalem persecution to Antioch mission
