What happened after Acts; at the end of the book, we leave Luke in Rome with Paul, but what happens next?! What about the author Luke? And how about Peter … he dropped out of the picture at the halfway mark, not to be heard from again … What gives?!

In this powerful opening session, we explore the pivotal moment of Paul’s martyrdom and its impact on Luke. Drawing from 2 Timothy 4, the episode reflects on the historical and spiritual realities of Rome in 68 AD. Was Luke a witness to Paul’s final days in the Mamertine prison? Did he serve as scribe for Hebrews? Where did Luke go after Paul’s death, and what clues do Scripture and church tradition offer about Pudens, Claudia, and Linus? This session traces Luke’s journey from companion to sole survivor, as the mantle of gospel witness quietly shifts.

  • Roman execution customs
  • Luke’s presence in Paul’s final letters
  • The significance of Pudens and Claudia
  • Connections to British royalty and early Roman Christianity
