The Last Week of Jesus

April 12, 2020 • Chris Reighley

Jesus is alive! The resurrection confirms His identity, secures our salvation, and launches the mission of the Church.

Introduction: The silence is broken. Jesus appears to women, disciples, and doubters. Death is defeated. This is the gospel’s climax and the beginning of all hope.

Outline:

  1. Resurrection Morning – Matt. 28:1–10; John 20:1–18
  2. The Guards’ Report – Matt. 28:11–15
  3. The Road to Emmaus – Luke 24:13–35
  4. Jesus Appears to the Disciples – John 20:19–29
  5. Great Commission and Ascension (preview) – Matt. 28:16–20

Setup for Future Discipleship: The risen Christ now calls us to go and make disciples. The story doesn’t end at the empty tomb—it begins there.
